PS: So unless you have distance to safely leave the mounts away from the fight, I'd say it's always best to just counter charge enemy cav. I can immediately see the effects of increased attack or morale, but not as much by increased armor. I found this forum post , but I'm not sure if it is true. Melee makes sense, but ranged is still unclear to me.
