Should i read the book thief

It's one of the best books I have ever read. I think everyone should at least give it a shot. It's so worth it. Wendy Jan 04, PM 0 votes. I consider it one of my favorites and I don't regret reading it, even though it took me a really long time to get through it.

It's real and raw and beautiful. The characters are amazing and the narration- I had Death's voice in my head. Kathy Great Robyn As of now, I have to go out of town to see the movie BUT, our small town theatre is going digital with plans to open sometime in February Antonia Jan 01, PM 0 votes. You should definitely read it! Such a great book. Easy to read, because the pages aren't full of small written words ;. View all 10 comments. I really do think you should read The Book Thief.

It's a very beautiful book and wonderfully written. I know the Pages are a lot, but it's really easy to read because the words aren't that small, and the paragraphs aren't humongous.

Besides loving the book so much and every thing, but I love the page layout and how the words are organized and the size of the words, and paragraphs; That didn't make much sense did it. But erm anyways, yes i really think you should read it!!

I loved it. Allison Jan 02, PM 0 votes. While I agree with Maggie and that I would not read it again I have to say that I really enjoyed this book!!!

If you read a lot of comments on goodreads you will notice people hate it, love it or precisely in the middle. I fall in the love category. If you love books and reading you can relate to Liesel and her desire to read anything she can get her hands on. You may find it difficult in the beginning but if you do please don't stop. It's a wonderful story and truly one of my favorite novels. Ayesha Jan 04, AM 0 votes. The book thief is my all time favourite along with Harry Potter. View all 5 comments.

Read it. Ashley Jan 06, PM 0 votes. You HAVE to read this. If I could take this book, and throw it in every single person's face, that I know, I would in a heartbeat. Claire Jan 04, PM 0 votes. It's a lovely book, and if you're concerned about the number of pages, don't be. It's not meant to be read at a break-neck pace like, say, The Hunger Games , but to be savored and enjoyed slowly.

Take your time with this one and let it sink in. Sabrina Jan 09, PM 0 votes. It was a great book! Definitely one of the best books I've ever read.

Linda Jan 02, AM 0 votes. I bought this book on Amazon after hearing a review on Diann Rehm one morning in my office. It sat on my shelf for two years, then I started reading it in , put it down for months then picked it up when I didn't seem to have anything else to read, the library was closed and I didn't feel like leaving the house to read right now. This time, when I started it, I couldn't put it down.

Well worth the read and the absorption into history. Kaitlyn Jan 02, PM 0 votes. For me, it was totally not worth reading it.

It got a little interesting at some points, but then it was slow and boring for almost a hundred pages after the good part.

Crystal Jan 02, PM 0 votes. It's one of my favorite books of all time and my best friend's too! It's just so beautiful But just to tell you, it had me bawling at the end so if you don't like sad books, that's a warning. The characters and plot are just perfect, and I love the narration. Read it, you won't regret it.

Sandra Jan 04, PM 0 votes. Without doubt, read it. Suddenly, tragedy strikes poor Liesel, and this part is completely unforgettable and tear-wrenching. This book is truly unique and a shining gem, strong in character, plot, and just about everything. I grew to care immensely for the characters, especially Hans and Liesel.

Some warnings about the book: There is a lot of cursing, mostly in German, with the English counterparts being 'bd' and 'a--hole', but these are mostly jokingly and lovingly exchanged between Liesel and Rudy, and Liesel and Rosa. The ending and some other parts are kind of violent. This book teaches a lot about history and World War II.

This book will always have a permanent place on my shelf-of-honor, and the characters a place in my heart. The Book Thief is the kind of book that you read in stunned silence, shaking your head in amazement.

The Book Thief takes my breath away. Poetic, riveting, and painful, it is narrated by death and holds a story of a young girl in Nazi Germany. The emotion displayed in the novel is heady, the setting described in a poignant way only an artist can grasp.

The cold narrator is sarcastic, apathetic, and callous. A novel that surpasses a shrug and an " it's The Book Thief is that kind of book. It grabs you and never lets go, it holds you long after you've turned the last page. Violence is okay, some characters die, and the narrator is death. It didn't bother me, but I don't know about other more sensitive readers.

Read this book. It will change your life. This title contains: Positive Messages. Teen, 13 years old Written by Crash.

The only reason for this is, because death is the narrator.

It gives you a great insight into normal family life during WWII in Germany without being too graphic. Teen, 14 years old Written by dont hate on ti June 8, More for mature children. Several people die and there are very, very mature themes. Obviously the book is about WWII so I read it when I was 11 but a lot of my 11 year old friends were NOT that mature. Kid, 11 years old May 6, The most beautiful, heart breaking book yet.

This book was it for me. I was in literal tears by the end of this book. I was 10 when I read it but am mature for my age. You might want some tissues for the last part. I was crying for about a week. Teen, 15 years old Written by swimgirl January 4, An awesome book I seriously loved this book.

I first read this book as summer reading for my frosh year lit class, and I fell in love with it. Nazi Germany and the Holocaust is one of my favorite topics of literature, and I feel that Markus Zusak does a fantastic job creating a story.
