And even his minor finger Genjutsu can throw Nagato off balance enough to blitz him. Nagato is near Minato's age probably older and Minato'd be 40 if he hadn't died. Jiraiya didn't get his long eye lines during the Second Shinobi War but did have them when he trained Minato. What constitutes mastering the Sharingan? The only thing that's quantifiable is if it's going off how many Tomoe Itachi has which isn't based on power nor skill. It's about emotions which Itachi has a lot of for an Uchiha.

Nagato is 35 according to the databooks. Older than I expected, but not as old as you were claiming. Mastering your Dojutsu at 8, compared to "awakening" it when you're around the same age puts Itachi and Nagato on completely different skill levels. What do you mean "the only thing that's quantifiable is the Tomoe"? When you master something, it's just that, mastering it.

Being so skilled with it that it's unfathomable for you to be any more proficient. Your attempt to downplay that fact by saying we can't quantify it is quite silly. If you master a martial art, it's more impressive than someone just learning a "better" martial art.

Again let's go back to my original statement. Nagato's Rinnegan is not even his own. He does not master it. Nor is he ever implied to. If I recall correctly, it's implied that he still has a lot more potential left untapped. While Nagato is not a novice, he's certainly no master. The skill difference is definitely there.
